From June 26 to June 30 this year the doctors and embryologists from AVA CLINIC attended the international conference ESHRE which took place in Rome.
Apart from interesting and informative work groups and reports, the international certification of embryologists from all over Europe took place as a part of this conference.
At the moment there is the need for solid theoretical foundation in the reproductology and unified work standards for embryologists in order to promote their successful adaptation to new technologies in the filed of cell biology and genetics, therefore the expert commission elaborated and applied the annual embryologists’ certification.
International certification allows elaborating and creating unified professional standards of the embryologists’ work quality. The objective of the examination which took place at the conference is to assess the competence of the clinical embryologists working in IVF clinics.
Elena Bazarova, embryologist of AVA CLINIC RIGA, successfully passed the certification, passed the examination and acquired an international certificate which proves her high competence and practical experience in embryology.

No šā gada 26. līdz 30. jūnijam AVA CLINIC ārsti un embriologi apmeklēja ikgadējo starptautisko konferenci ESHRE, kas notika Romā.
Papildus interesantām un izglītojošām darba grupām un referātiem šīs konferences ietvaros notika starptautiskā sertifikācija embriologiem no visas Eiropas.

С 26 по 30 июня этого года врачи и эмбриологи AVA CLINIC посетили ежегодную международную конференцию ESHRE, которая проходила в Риме.
Кроме интересных и познавательных рабочих групп и докладов, в рамках этой конференции проходила международная сертификация эмбриологов со всей Европы.
Так как в настоящее время в репродуктологии возникла потребность в прочной теоретической базе и единых стандартах работы эмбриологов для их успешной адаптации к новым технологиям в области клеточной биологии и генетики, экспертная комиссия разработала и ввела в практику ежегодную сертификацию эмбриологов.
Международная сертификация позволяет создать единые профессиональные стандарты качества работы эмбриологов. И целью проведенного на конференции экзамена является оценка компетентности клинических эмбриологов, работающих в ЭКО клиниках.

This year on 27-28 May the AVA clinic’s director Violeta Fodina and embryologist Indra Dundure visited world-famous company Origio (in cooperation with BIOGENESI Reproductive Medicine Centre) which has organised workshop on the technique of egg vitrification using a new patented system called Cryopette®.
Among the participants of the scientific programme, there were both experienced gynaecologists-reproductologists and embryologists who made it possible to elucidate the process of egg freezing and storage not only from the medical, but also from the laboratory perspective. The new patented system called Cryopette® combines the good results that have been obtained with the directives of the European Union and ensures absolute safety when working with germ cells.

Free egg and sperm donation for single woman

All around the world increases the number of women, who do not look for a husband and marriage or have other sexual priorities, but still they do not exclude the possibility for themselves to have a baby. For such women a donor sperm sometimes is the only opportunity to achieve that.

Many single women need not only a donor sperm but also donor eggs, since their own eggs are of bad quality or because of some reasons their ovaries do not produce sufficient amount of eggs. For such women, in case she is single, there is a special program donor eggs+donor sperm.

To have a baby is a natural and absolute right of every person.

Donation of eggs and sperm is an important social and ethical issue and it is strictly regulated by the Law in many European countries.

Latvia is a country, which has a liberal legislation regulating this issue. The Law reads that in the territory of Latvia any kind of treatment can be conducted, including those which apply donor cells for women before 50, who are single, for heterosexual couples and married couples (Seksualas un reproduktivas veselibas likums №716, №208, №261). Also the legislation of Latvia allows for using for one pair of recipients both donor eggs and donor spermatozoon ( embryo adoption). Donation in Latvia is anonymous, which provides for having vast number of donors and shortening waiting lists for recipients. The given test allows to determine the quantity of capable spermatozoids to fertilize oocytes.
The spermatozoid ability to fertilize oocyte has great significance in the natural cycle of fertilization, as well as in-vitro fertilization.

The oocytes is covered by viscose membrane, which leaks only correctly built, matured spermatozoids.
Only AVA CLINIC gives the possibility to determine sperm quality, what allowes to understand whether the spermatozoid is capable to penetrate to the viscose membrane of oocyte and to fertilize it.

Test operating principle:

There are receptors (protein substance) on the head of matured spermatozoid, which are responsible for the spermatozoid capability to identify and bind to the oocyte’s viscose mebrane. In case, if the first stage of sperm-oocyte fusion does not happened, the fertilization is impossible.
After that spermatozoid binded to the oocyte’s membrane, from its head substances (ferments), what dissolve the membrane and allow to the spermatozoid to penetrate, are released. There is spermatozoid-oocyte interaction’s reaction, when spermatozoid is able to fertilize oocyte.
These receptors are only on the head of matured spermatozoids. Precisely sperm function test will help to determine whether the spermatozoid is capable to bind to the oocyte and fertilize it.

This test is recommended if:

1. the pregnancy does not become for a long period of time (more than 2 years) and the reason of infertility is not disclosed.
2. You have had IVF cycle and a small amount or none of oocytes were fertilized.
3. In case if the results of ordinary sperm analysis do not allow to take the final decision for choosing the artificial fertilization method.

При помощи теста можно определить количество сперматозоидов, которые способны к оплодотворению.
В процессе естественного цикла оплодотворения, так же как и в стандартном цикле искусственного оплодотворения, большое значение имеет способность сперматозоида оплодотворить яйцеклетку. Яйцеклетку покрывает вискозный слой, который пропускает только созревшие сперматозоиды с правильным строением.
Только AVA CLINIC предлагает возможность определить функциональное качество спермы, что даст возможность понять, способен ли сперматозоид проникнуть через вискозную оболочку яйцеклетки и оплодотворить ее.

Принцип работы теста

На головке созревшего сперматозоида имеются рецепторы (белковые вещества), которые отвечают за возможность сперматозоида опознать и присоединиться к вискозной оболочке яйцеклетки. Если первого этапа связывания сперматозоида и яйцеклетки не происходит, то оплодотворение не возможно.
После того как сперматозоид присоседился к оболочке яйцеклетки, из его головки выделяются вещества (ферменты), которые растворяют оболочку и позволяют сперматозоиду проникнуть вовнутрь. Происходит реакция взаимодействия сперматозоида и яйцеклетки, во время которой сперматозоид способен оплодотворять ее.
Эти рецепторы имеются только на головках у созревших сперматозоидов. И именно с помощью теста определяющего функцию спермы, можно точно определить способен ли сперматозоид присоединится к яйцеклетке и оплодотворить ее.

Вам рекомендуется этот тест если:

1. Если у вас долгое время (больше двух лет) не наступает беременность и причина бесплодия не обнаружена,
2. Если у Вас была попытка IVF ,и в цикле оплодотворилось мало яйцеклеток или вообще не оплодотворилось ни одной яйцеклетки,
3. В случае когда результаты простого анализа спермы не позволяют принять окончательного решения по поводу выбора метода искусственного оплодотворения .
